Presiding Over the ASPIRE 2026 Congress in Beijing as a Historic First for Pakistan
Dr. Haroon Latif
has officially made history as the first Pakistani to serve as the President of
ASPIRE, the Asia Pacific Initiative on Reproduction. As the leading
professional society for reproductive medicine across the Asia-Pacific region,
ASPIRE encompasses the world’s most populous territory, spanning Australia, New
Zealand, South and Southeast Asia, China, Japan, Central Asia, and Russia. This
vast region is home to more than half of the global population and drives an
enormous share of international IVF activity.
This week, Dr. Latif successfully
presided over the prestigious ASPIRE 2026 Congress in Beijing. Marking the
society’s 20th international meeting, the monumental event brought together
over 3,000 global delegates from 60 countries across five continents under the
inspired theme “Journeying the Silk Road of Reproductive Care.”
Dr.
Latif is the first Pakistani to hold this office in ASPIRE’s history and its
youngest ever President — a distinction earned after more than a decade of
continuous service on the society’s board.
This
milestone reinforces LIFE IVF Centre and Hameed Latif Hospital’s unwavering
commitment to bringing world-class reproductive medicine, scientific
innovation, and compassionate patient care to Pakistan.
From Beijing to Lahore, this achievement represents a monumental journey of science, leadership, and care returning home.
